I just landed in EGYPT and I am about to travel to the Nile river which is in the continent of Africa. It flows through Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan and Burundi.
I am going to the Nile River, which is known to have supplied the ancient Egyptians with water, soil for growing food and transportation. The river is said to be the world's most informing resource about the ancient Egyptians and their lifestyle.
The god of the Nile River was hapi. The Egyptians would pray to this god when the Nile flooded and thanked him for bringing fertility to the dry land. The Nile no longer floods because of a dam that was built to control the annual flooding.
We get to the Nile by camel and I can hear the river flowing.
All I can smell is the fresh water. The water is soooo clear and blue. The land on either side of the Nile is green and vegetation is everywhere. The banks of the river Nile are a brownish yellow and the trees are towering overhead.
We start to head back and I am sooooo tired.
Speak to you soon ♥ Laura
